Saturday picspam

Woke up at first around five this morning... took me a while to fall asleep again, but I think I managed a few more hours. Have been up since a bit past eight.

Tired, cranky (a bit of a headache - can't drink anything hot yet apparently, so no coffee), mouth tastes like something very distasteful (really wish I could brush my teeth properly again! instead of this very gentle brushing with water, which might have helped a little, but is still icky), but otherwise... well, things could be worse at this stage, I suppose. Slight tenderness still, but I wouldn't call it pain. And not bleeding today, yay.

Getting really sick of sweet stuff though, but we don't seem to have any good salty cold mushy things to eat.

Anyway, here are some more pics from last Saturday's Pärnu visit.

The Pärnu river.

Gate with shadows.

I loved the shape but the sky was totally blown in one corner, so I decided to be artistic. Umm.

Common butterbur.

A tree.

Pink.

Garden.

Greenery.

Approaching the beach.

Reed.

Getting closer to the beach.

The beach.

Birch.

Feels weird to have holidays. What to do with them? Should stay home for a few days, anyway, and find more mushy things to eat... can try and catch up on reading and the likes, I suppose. Would be awfully nice to get a visit from a plot bunny or two, but I'm not counting on it.

Your tooth doesn't sound too bad, which is good. It should improve soon.

[identity profile] kribu.livejournal.com 2008-05-10 11:13 am (UTC)(link)
I'm certainly hoping so!

[identity profile] ayerf.livejournal.com 2008-05-10 10:38 am (UTC)(link)
Hope you can have hot mushy things soon. That should break up the monotony a bit.

Ooh! I love the arty tree!

May the plot bunnies attack.

[identity profile] kribu.livejournal.com 2008-05-10 11:14 am (UTC)(link)
The problem is really that I don't even know what hot mushy things they would be... I don't eat much mushy stuff in normal circumstances.

Would be nice if they attacked, but I'm not holding my breath.

hope your tooth decides to stop giving you a hard time soon *hugs*

and I love the second to last picture - the clouds look incredible!

[identity profile] kribu.livejournal.com 2008-05-10 11:16 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks. At least it's out now, so it's not like I have much choice but to suffer for a bit!

The clouds did look wonderful.

Mashed potatoes and other root veg? Tepid soup?

Don't forget to use tepid salty water as a mouthwash - I had to do this about five times a day after my wisdom tooth extraction.

Love the dunes, and the clouds over the beach.

May the plot bunny attack!

Thought about potatoes etc, but we don't seem to have any.

Yeah, I just made some salty water but waiting for it to cool down enough. Enough time should have passed now for gentle rinsing to be safe, I assume. (Of course, had I not been reading lots of "tooth extraction aftercare" pages on the net, I wouldn't even know about it. I did try to ask as much as I could about what to do, but it was difficult to talk much while having to bite down on a bunch of bloody gauze... and the dentist already had another patient waiting, so she didn't volunteer too much information either. Can't really blame her, for an Estonian she's already unusually chatty and friendly.)

I wish we had such nice dunes in Tallinn. The beaches here tend to be a bit flatter.

One can but hope.

Sorry to hear you're still feeling a bit icky. When you move up to warm and mushy, maybe oatmeal or something? Lovely picspam!

[identity profile] kribu.livejournal.com 2008-05-10 04:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm a little wary of proper oatmeal while I still can't rinse or brush my teeth properly - not only does it have a tendency to stick to the teeth, it also occasionally includes the, um, whatever you call the hard sharp outer shell bits of the grain thingies? - and that can get stuck between teeth too easily.

Perhaps if we had some instant oatmeal things... hmm. Wonder if there's any in any nearby stores.

Right now the headache from lack of coffee is really the worst thing bothering me. Grrrrr.

I am sure the soft sweet things are getting a bit annoying. Once could try some crackers crushed in some milk or something like that for saltiness. I hope it gets better quickly!

And as always, wonderful pics. I love that branch in the sky. :)

I'm a bit loathe to try anything with bits that could get stuck in the empty place... Have had mashed potatoes now though, which were surprisingly decent for an instant powder thing. And much better than all the sweet stuff!

[identity profile] ozymandiasrex.livejournal.com 2008-05-10 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
yes...the bits bit would be a possible issue. I'm glad you had some mashed potatoes though. :)

Your picspam is as always gorgeous. I particularly adore the tree with the bird.

Best of luck with the teeth, you poor old thing...

[identity profile] kribu.livejournal.com 2008-05-11 09:15 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks! Birds are getting tricky to notice now the trees finally have leaves again.

I'm obviously glad there's been no real pain but I do wish the tenderness gave up already... it's getting annoying. And I really wish I could brush the area properly!

It's the brushing bit I feel sorry for you about! That kind of thing gets a bit annoying after a while. I cannot WAIT to get permission to have a lovely, hot, properly soaking shower again... ugh.

[identity profile] kribu.livejournal.com 2008-05-11 09:32 am (UTC)(link)
Quite so! It's one of those things one never really realises just how annoying it can get. And with brushing teeth in particular, just one day is enough to get really grrrr about it.

And it's not like I've been extremely conscientious about brushing teeth in general - just twice a day, no three times a day thing for me. And often just in the evening on weekends/days off/days when I don't leave home, when I don't have a proper routine to follow in the mornings...

I do think this is one case where having a wisdom tooth out is better, compared to a tooth somewhere in the middle of the row. Much easier to brush the remaining teeth when the new hole is right at the very end - less of a problem avoiding it while brushing the rest!

I hope it's much better already! Hugs.

Gorgeous photos!

Thanks.

Still a little tender and a bit swollen. And it doesn't really help I'm almost paranoid about getting dry socket, heh. So it's mostly being stressed - hopefully for no good reason, at least.
