Status update

Well, I survived the dentist.

The procedure itself was extremely quick (don't think the actual part dealing with extraction took over ten minutes) and painless (although the three injections were prickly). Couldn't feel my tongue or lower lip for a couple of hours afterwards.

Am getting a bit tired of the taste of blood though. There's been some bleeding (can't tell if it's still bleeding or not, what with not being allowed to rinse and not being allowed to poke at it, but my tongue looked considerably less bloody now than when I got to work - will see if I need to find more gauze or something later on, if it's still bleeding) and the numbness wore off over an hour ago. So it's hurting a bit now... but for the time being, not more than the usual gum tenderness I've had after dental work, i.e. annoying but within tolerable levels. Not going to take painkillers yet - will if it gets worse or stays like this when I want to go to sleep.

Felt quite faint at work (yes, I actually went to work and did work for 2.5 hours - decided to take advantage of the numbness and do the one thing I had left before holidays) at one point, but I think it was when the numbness started wearing off and I could actually feel and taste all that blood. Ugh.

Anyway, I'm officially on holiday now. Hopefully I'll actually get to enjoy some of it. At least I was informed by the dentist that ice cream is very okay as food. And as a good five hours have now passed since the visit, I think/hope it's safe to eat a bit of it now.

Hopefully it is safe! I'd envy you for being able to eat ice cream, but you have had a tooth out...

Blood flavour ice cream. Sorry, couldn't help thinking of that! *offers brainbleach*

Whew! Good thing that's done. I don't envy you in the slightest, though I'm slightly in awe of the work ethic in going to work after that.

Ice cream is definitely a good option, I think. *hands you a large tub of your favorite flavor*

You just found the squeam button I didn't know I had....

Oh, well - at least it's done. And with a bit of luck you'll be right as rain in a few days.

Enjoy the Ice Cream Diet (TM).

Your music will soothe you at least. ;) I do hope your mouth recovers quickly and that you can have as enjoyable a holiday as possible. *fluffs*

Ooh, sorry for the unpleasantness! I hope you feel already a bit better. Being told to eat icecream should help too... what flavour?

When I had a wisdom tooth extracted it healed very quickly - I think I was perfectly fine after two or three days - so it shouldn't spoil your holidays.

*hugs*

I hate the tingling feeling as the drugs are wearing off almost more than any tenderness afterwards. I do hope it heals well and that you can enjoy your holiday.

Eugh - I remember that feeling!

Enjoy the ice cream . . .
