Tired. Lazy. Spent the day in Pärnu yesterday. Took a gazillion pics, so there might be eventual picspam. Provided I'll ever get around to it. So tired...

Read news about a young Lucius being cast for the HBP film. Trying very hard to figure out what on earth a young Lucius would be needed for in that film. All I'm coming up with is that they've decided he's one of young Tom Riddle's mates back from his schooldays, as "dinner scene with Slughorn" has been mentioned. And that pretty much has to be the Pensieve memory of Riddle trying to get Slughorn to tell him about Horcruxes, hasn't it?

Watched DW: The Poison Sky earlier. Not the best episode ever, but entertaining enough. And major squee regarding an old skool Who mention there!

A Kribu paw.

Kribu in the sun.

Pätsu giving Kribu a wash. Kribu looking all "wtf are you doing?".

Put a pile of laundered socks on the sofa for sorting. Pätsu decided they'd make a nice bed.

Pätsu and her three front paws. Er. Still on the pile of socks.

Shadow!Pätsu, real!Pätsu and a teddybear.

A Pätsu paw.

The fridge makes a good bed for a tired Pätsu.

Another day, same fridge, same Pätsu.

More Pätsu.

My chair. And Musti's.

Cardboard packaging is always good for sleeping on. Kribu thinks so, anyway.

Lovely picspam! I really particularly like the Shadow!Pätsu pic.

Er, yeah, and young Lucius? WTF? He's decades younger than Riddle, or so I'd always thought, though that is pretty much the only scenario that makes the least bit of sense.

Thanks! Shadow!Pätsu was completely ignoring me at the time.

Exactly! Riddle should be a good 20+ years older than Lucius. But I can't really see any other reason for including a young Lucius in HBP, unless there's something made up with Slughorn reminiscing about young Lily or something like that (and even so it wouldn't exactly make sense). Ah well, I suppose we'll see.

I wonder the same about young Lucius. Where do they intend to do with him?

And another cute picspam. You really spoil us.

I'm guessing there's been a change in timelines, and film!Voldemort is going to be about the same age as Lucius & the Marauder generation. (Never mind that young!Riddle in CoS looked fairly realistically like a 1950s youth would have.)

Thanks! Can't really help it with all this cuteness around...

wow I didn't know that about lucius, sounds like a nice addition to me though.

really nice pictures :D I especially like kribu in the sun and pätsu on the fridge. did you take these with your new camera?

I suppose it depends on what they'll do with him. If they do add him in the Pensieve scene with young Tom trying to get Slughorn to tell him about Horcruxes, then... well, it's a small thing, but canon-wise, Lucius wouldn't even have been born yet at the time. Hmm. I guess we'll see!

Thanks! The last four were with the new one, when I was just fiddling with the various settings and seeing what would give the results I'd like the most. The first eight are with my Fuji compact. It's generally easier and quicker to grab that for random snapshots of cats than getting out the big camera. :-D

it really doesn't make much of sense if he was at school with riddle, but knowing the hp movies they'll just do it anyway O_o;

ah, I see :D well, both cams take stunningly great pictures!

I'm guessing the people in charge of the movies haven't really been paying much attention to the generational gaps and the ages... I mean, the whole Marauder generation has looked a good 15-20 years older than they should be (compared to the books) right from the start.

Not just with Rickman playing Snape, but also James & Lily - the James & Lily in the photos and the mirror of Erised have not looked barely out of school / 20-ish but rather in their early/mid-thirties, really. And both Sirius and Remus have also looked older.

The cameras are good. If the pictures suck, it's mostly due to me. :-D I'm quite happy with the new camera's high ISO though - all of those four last pictures are at ISO 1600 and don't really look too bad for that.

What is it with cats and cardboard boxes?!?! Lol!

And they better not be making up some scene for young Lucius!

Cats just seem to adore cardboard. I guess it's warm ... or something?

I can't recall there being any mention of young Lucius in HBP, so if they're going to have him in the film, they're probably going to have to make up something... I just don't get why! Would understand having him in DH, as I believe he was in one of Snape's memories, but HBP... well, we'll see.

It's like when they planned to have a scene with reference to Dumbledore and his girlfriend or something... until JK stepped in and said he was gay.

It's like, they're forgetting that there is a HUGE fandom out there just waiting for them to make a mistake!

Idiots... but I guess we should wait to pass judgement till we see the end result!

Indeed!

I understand creative vision and films sometimes having to make changes from the books out of necessity, but occasionally the choices made have been a bit baffling. But I guess we'll see.

Heh. I squeed, was told off for squeeing, and squeed again >:-). And that was Sir Alastair unless I'm entirely mistaken ...

Me too! I just read recently that Nicholas Courtney would be interested in making an appearance - they've just got to get him into the new series. *crosses fingers*

I really need to read HBP again before the film is released, but I hope that the random insertion of a young Lucius into Tom Riddle's childhood doesn't happen. Now a good scene with a young Severus and Lucuis would be good...

Cute cats :D

Date: 4 May 2008 15:41 (UTC)
From: [identity profile] kribu.livejournal.com
I just can't think of anything in HBP that would require a young Lucius. *sighs* I guess the best to be hoped for is not to have Lucius referred to by name, in which case we could pretend it's his father or something.

I'd love a good scene with young Severus and Lucius! Perhaps in DH... well, one can dream, right?

Thanks!

Lovely catspam! I adore the one with the teddy bear.

Young Lucius? WTF?

Date: 4 May 2008 16:19 (UTC)
From: [identity profile] kribu.livejournal.com
I suspect Pätsu would have preferred the teddy bear to be ... somewhere else. Couldn't be helped though!

'WTF?' was really my reaction, too...
