Why do cats always insist on climbing up into my lap and making themselves comfortable about 2 minutes before I need to get up, to get the coffee or the toast or whatever? :-S Why never when I have more time for them?

And it's no better in the evenings, when the same thing happens right when I'm already in the process of turning off the computer for the night.

In other news, Sony's new P&S cameras feature not only face detection but also smile detection, taking the picture when the subject is smiling. That is... disturbing. (I wonder if smirking also works. And what happens if the camera is held vertically? Or if the subject is upside down - would the camera still recognise the smile or would it consider it a frown?)

There's a software for photo-labs that touches up photos automatically: removes pimples from teenagers, smoothes out wrinkles from crones, bleaches teeth and eye-whites...

I suppose that having post-processing software do things like that is sort of more... normal, these days. Well, not normal, but more expected.

Having the camera itself detect when someone is smiling and snapping the photo at that moment is quite scary though. I don't want to be caught smiling on photos! :-D

Indeed... although in my case, with Kribu (yes, I stole my cat's name for the Internet), it's less psychic power and more patience. Instead of sitting on people when they need to go, her favourite hobby is sitting by the toilet door and waiting for people, so she can ambush them and accompany them. :-S

She's a bit strange.
