As promised the other day... picspam! From, um, Wednesday, I think, when I got off work early and met mum for a short walk to / by the seaside. However, "early" is a relative concept and thus it still managed to get rather dark very quickly.

Pigeon.

Tree. With sunsettish light.

Moon.

Park avenue.

Sea, slightly iced.

Random person feeding swans.

Rubbish shot (too dark really for anything moving!), but I loved the expression on the gull's face.

Birdies.

View towards the harbour.

Park.

Lanterns.

A bonus winking Kribu.
And now the snow's mostly gone once again and it's raining and there's wind. Lots of wind. Blegh.

Date: 11 January 2009 19:33 (UTC)Seriously, mum has been trying everything possible to sell some pics for years now, as the only thing she can do (and she's considerably better than I am, although she does nick some of my better ones too). Exhibitions, albums, single art online, calendars... no one buys anything. It's fairly depressing.

I mean - WOW, dude.
*winks back at Kribu*

Date: 11 January 2009 20:10 (UTC)That one actually isn't my favorite, though. I'm not sure I have a favorite. I love the second one for the textures and colors, the avenue one because it's beautifully composed and is a perfect tourism shot, the sunset ones because I'm a sucker for sunsets and the lantern because... it's cool.
Thank you for sharing!

I know how hard it can be to pick! I'm usually having a really hard time deciding what to post, as I can get a bit trigger-happy and like most of them...

Date: 11 January 2009 20:36 (UTC)Although I think the low-sun-to-set-sun light helped a lot with those too - it was an afternoon with unusually beautiful light.

Date: 12 January 2009 06:26 (UTC)I have begun to "see" so much more since I started taking pictures. It's just wonderful, even when I don't have a camera with me.
You should absolutely get a camera! Photography class sounds fun, too, although in this day and age it's probably possible to learn quite a bit without it, unless you're considering something specialised (using studio flashes or what not) - I've learned everything on my own.
Not that I know much beyond the basics - I tend to stay on P(rogrammed Auto) mode 99% of the time and only go manual when P doesn't quite cut it. *hugs smart cameras that can figure things out on their own*
