Am still trying to wake up - had my coffee cold this morning, as I spent time giving Musti her pill and completely forgot that I'd poured the coffee out already, and it was icky and disgusting and I had to force myself to drink it (I do wish something, anything, else worked the way coffee does to keep off the otherwise unavoidable afternoon headaches, as I really dislike coffee).

And Pätsu just finally, after days of trying, managed to get my laptop out of the shelf and threw it down. :-/ I think it works - turned it on briefly and seemed fine, but I didn't try the DVD drive or anything else beyond basic turn-on, as all the cables are put away. It wasn't a big fall, maybe from about 30 cm, and corner-first... more like a slide, I suppose, and it is a business-class laptop which ought to mean a tougher shell. But still. Argh. That cat.

As I'm still too out of it to do much else, here's a handful of pics from last week and yesterday. Snow all gone, sniffle.

Puddle with leaves and tree reflections.

Cattails by the river.

River.

River.

Yesterday's sunset when going to the vet's.

Sucky pic of the moon, but I loved the halo.

Am tired and a bit achy. Managed to take a tumble down the stairs yesterday on the way out, as the stairwell was quite dark and I missed a step. Not a big fall, but my knees and hands didn't appreciate it anyway. I was wiser on the way back - still no lights - and used the phone flashlight. Which reminds me that I really should get that new phone I want, and give my current one to mum, whose phone isn't working too well any more.

Oh - the one of the puddle is wonderful!!! I'd like a large print of that!

Sorry to hear about your fall. No light in the stairwell? Doesn't that count as your landlord failing to carry out contractual obligations? I'm glad you didn't break anything.

Poor Musti and her pills. I caught up on your posts last night but didn't have time to comment on everything. With luck, the pills will improve her quality of life - and that's what is important, after all. Even if it does make your coffee cold. (Can't abide cold coffee - so you have my sympathy for that as well.)

Oh, I know, large prints are lovely. Even if they cost a bloody fortune - mum nicked the photo and has a slightly different crop up on her RedBubble (http://www.redbubble.com/people/bluesrose/art/2174468-2-magic) account.

I don't have any idea what sort of contractual obligations there are or who is responsible, to be honest. We don't exactly have a landlord (as everyone owns their flat), but there is some company dealing with general upkeep of stairwells and such. I think it was just too early in the day for the lights to be on, although frankly, this time of the year, they really ought to be on all the time - there simply isn't enough light coming in from the small windows even when it's not around sunset.

I do hope the pills will help, yes. Even if it's pills designed for humans and not cats... well, if vets have access to them and prescribe them, I assume they've been deemed safe enough.

Oh dear. I hope your aches are minor and pass quickly. Falling is no fun at all.

Pätsu is a bit jealous of the laptop it seems! Hope that survived its fall as well.

I'm glad Musti isn't giving you too much grief over the pills. I hope they do the trick.

Lovely picspam. I particularly like the moon with the halo.

They're definitely minor. Just seems that my body's not as young as it used to be. *grumbles*

I think Pätsu just doesn't like things to be where they are. She has no reason to be jealous of it as I don't exactly use it! And yeah, I do hope it's not going to have any problems.

Thanks. Looks like Musti is a very easy cat to give pills to - just hide the stuff in food and down it goes. And it helps that the amount she needs to take is so tiny.

The puddle is lovley, but I think I live the river pics the best!

*sends flashlight and ice for the hands and knees*

Poor Mutsti, I do hope this helps her!

*hugs*

Brrrr. Ice cold. ;-)

Thanks. And yes, I do hope so too. The poor little beastie's been through enough lately!

Beautiful! All of them are lovely, though I'm such a sucker for sunsets so that's my favorite. The two above it, though, are close behind.

I hope your hands and knees feel better. :-(

It's too bad there were houses and cars and stuff around the tree with the sunset, so I had to crop a lot... but then again, it makes it different enough!

They're better, yes - it was shock more than anything else, I think.

I like the format of the sunset. It works really nicely, makes the sky seems higher and more majestic, I think.

Oh, I hate falling up or down stairs (down is worse, of course) as much for how stupid it makes me feel as for the physical pain. It's not stupid, but, gosh, I feel it.

I was lucky that it was only my mother there to witness it, and as it was dark, she didn't actually see what happened! But yes, I know the embarrassment that comes with it. I especially hate slipping and falling on the street, with people around.

Oh, gorgeous, gorgeous piccies! Love the play of colour and diffuse light in the puddle one, and you can never go wrong with halos around the moon. God, I could have a field day making textures out of these...

Actually, with your permission, I think I might like to go back and save some of your pictures to use as stock resources for textures and the like. ONLY with your permission, of course.

Ouch. I'm so glad it wasn't a big fall, because if it made you pitch forward on your hands and knees things could have seriously been bloody awful had the fall been big.

Go ahead, you have my permission! Glad you like them enough for that. :-D

Yes, it was fortunately the bottommost step that I missed, so not exactly a big tumble, just enough for me to lose balance. I know it's quite risky to fall on hands like that, but under the circumstances, I'm fairly glad it was this way and not the other, as I'm not sure I'd have avoided pulling my back otherwise. (And it's not like I had a choice, heh - didn't even realise what was going on until I found myself on the floor! Damn concrete's hard though...)

You're quite allowed to like them all. :-D

Very evuhl Pätsu. Grrrr.

Sorry to hear about your fall. I'm really glad that it was mostly harmless. Still, take good care of yourself!

The pic with the puddle looks gorgeous!

I'm just glad the phone has a flashlight, or the way back, with going up the stairs, would have been even harder!

Thank you. Puddles can make the most amazing subjects for pictures.
