Has been a while since I've done a picspam post... still haven't managed to tackle my Paris pictures properly, or others since then, but as I went for a short walk with mum in Kadriorg yesterday (it stopped raining, yay, although still cold and windy) after work, I figured I can just as well post a handful before I forget about those, too!

Me.

A table in a café. Outdoors eating time seems to be over.

The main Kadriorg pond.

Duckies.

Swan with escort.

Horse chestnut.

Oak.

Tree house.

Willow bark.

Young cats playing. Picture's mine, post-processing by mum, as the original rather sucked - the light was too low by then to get a good sharp light capture.

Contemplating going out soon... currently not raining but has been on and off all morning, and it's very grey and windy outside. (Inside too, really, even with the window closed.) But there might be something interesting going on in the harbour - a Red Bull fly day or something like that.

I love the green/brown patterns of certain trees in September.

Ooh! I like the birdses, trees and leaves. Love the cats.

That pic of you has an interesting perspective... but cheating not to have your face!

The treehouse is in the trunk?! I thought treehouses were meant to be in the branches...

I don't think my face from a similar perspective would be all too flattering....

I've seen plenty of old trees fixed with concrete or other similar stuff before but this was the first time I'd come across one properly bricked up.

The cats were a lot of fun. Too bad (for pictures) that it was nearing twilight and they wouldn't stay still!

Great pictures! I love the pond, it just looks so peaceful. The cats are fantastic by the way; the low light and post processing almost makes it look like an effect.

Thanks! And yes, it does - can't tell at all how cold and nasty the wind was. :-D

I love the way the cats and the tree seem to be made of the same stuff with the sepia effect, the patterns of the cats' fur continuing on the tree and beyond.

Lovely!

Especially the swan and the willow bark!

Very nice! :)

Thanks! The swan is quite lovely. There's always been a swan or two in that pond (it's called the Swan pond).

But I also liked the tree house and the cats up a tree :D Thanks for sharing!

It was so funny to see the swan paddling around the pond with the flock of duckies following.

Glad you liked them!

Lovely piccies. I got a huge kick out of the ducks, who look like they're lined up at the start line and waiting for the pistol to go off. Kitties are adorable, too.

I know! It was so funny to see them all lined up like that. Ready for a swimming competition, I suppose!

I love the bricked up tree! It's very amusing. I've also never quite seen a horse chestnut before, so I loved that (especially being a Jane Austen fan.)

Wonderful pictures. Thanks for sharing them.

The bricks made me look at it twice!

Horse chestnuts are gorgeous, especially in the spring when in full bloom. Really wonderful looking trees.

I'm glad you liked them!

I'll have to hunt up some pictures. Until now, I've been using my imagination, and it's nothing compared to the real thing.

Thanks, again.

These are all lovely, but the horse chestnut one really grabs me. Something about the contrast between the green/brown pattern of the leaves and the bold, darker lines of the branches. ~admires~

I have a huge weakness for backlit leaves of any sort but horse chestnut in the autumn seems to be an especially good subject for that.

Thanks!

Autumn is my favorite season. The pictures are lovely. I happen to love trees too... Big ones, like that Horse Chestnut.

I hope you get a chance to go outside. I live vicariously through you. :P

Thanks! I love trees.

Did get to go out but pretty much just for shopping. Ah well.

Hello - your photos are lovely. :)

[livejournal.com profile] mmyrtle advised me to say hello to you, after I asked my friends-list if anyone is located in Tallinn. That's where I am, for the next week or so.

Maybe we can have coffee and talk about Snape? :)

Hello! And thanks. :-)

And I can't see why not! Work tends to keep me busy during the day but on most days I'm quite free after 5 pm or so - coffee in the old town next week sounds like a pretty good idea.

I'm reachable at kribu13 at yahoo.co.uk for any further planning.

Love the almost abstract effect of the horse chestnut, and the acorns are pretty.

Why is that tree bricked up?

Acorns are always pretty...

I suspect it's to keep it from falling to pieces. Old trees in parks are often patched up to try and keep them around as long as possible. Just not usually with bricks!
