All hail her majesty Queen Elizabeth II! :-)

Thanks to the royal visit, I had a good reason to ask if I can stay at home for these two days (today and yesterday), as the traffic is somewhat mucked up, the streets my bus to work takes being most likely closed at just the time I usually go to work and leave work, and my request was granted.

It's so nice to be able to work at home occasionally (when it's not over the weekend, that is, but during a normal day and normal hours)... can get up later and thus sleep longer, plus all other nice things such as having a computer that doesn't freeze and stop responding when I am trying to save a larger file, having a bigger and better monitor, having a chair and desk that don't give me major back pains already an hour after getting to work, and so on. On the other hand, I get sat upon a lot, which makes typing a bit difficult (yes, I'm currently looking at you, Kribu).

eBay is dangerous. Very, very dangerous.

But nice. :-)

Received the 50mm f/1.7 lens for my K100D today that I bought a week or two ago... got here all the way from Turkey without any problems, it seems. And it's looking like a very nice lens indeed - will definitely be the one for indoors. Had to try it instantly of course - boy the depth of field with these bigger cameras and wide apertures is something else.

Also received the Target novelisation for The Reign of Terror, and some CD I got for mom.
I like eBay... not sure my bank account agrees, but tough. ;-) With the amount of work I've been doing lately, it shouldn't really complain too much anyway.

Was told yesterday that I was to get a lot of new work today... so now here I am, having completed everything else I had, and it appears there is no one of those people present who could actually tell me if there is new work and if so, where to get it... yay. Well, nice to have a small break, but not nice when the work (if/when I get it) still needs to get done by a deadline. Pah! (And on a related note: why oh why do people think it's great fun to draw up legal texts in 6 pt font? Small print indeed... too small to read properly, let alone translate, even at 150% when on a 1280x1024 px screen!)

Musti update: she is still dragging her hind legs after her, and they (or the spine area in the back which was supposedly inflammatory as well) obviously hurt, but the last couple of days seem to have been a little better again. She is sleeping a lot but when moving around, is a little quicker and doesn't lie down every 2 metres, so that is probably good. She's still a little tank though whenever she feels the need to attack my lap.

Haven't had a chance to take my lovely new big camera out again yet, but I did find a shoebox to keep it in. Need to get a proper bag for it next. And a tripod. And some more lenses... well, just having a fast, bright lens for indoor/lower light use would be good for starters (bidding on one on eBay now, no idea if I'll get it though). And eventually I do want an external flash, provided I can figure out how to use it! No idea at all how those things work, heh. So more work (read: money) would be nice right now.

Three 10-hour workdays in a row... exhausting. And will keep on like that at least this whole week.

Musti has got worse again. :-( She definitely has problems walking and even lying down seems to cause pain. :-/ I just don't know what to do with her... hoping that maybe once heating starts, she'll feel better again. Don't really want to take her back to the vet's again for more shots if they don't help for more than a week.

Eh.

Musti seems to have a joint inflammation... or something like that. She got lots of shots (antibiotics, painkillers, vitamins) and I have to take her back to the vet's for the next four days for more shots. For once in my life I wish I had a car, as carrying a bag with a 6-7 kg kitty for about 2 km there (and the same back) is not quite the kind of fun it might sound like. ;-) At least she seems a lot livelier already, running around and climbing up things and such. And being very, very hungry.

Also picked up a few packages from the post office... RTD's New Adventure Damaged Goods and four Target novelisations, two First and two Second Doctors (I've decided to try and get the novelisations for the incomplete/missing TV stories), woo. Now I need to find places for them.

Kitties. Mum had booked a vet appointment for Musti today but she refused to get into the bag (and without an extra pair of hands to help, it is difficult to make a kitty do something she doesn't want to do), so the appointment got re-booked for tomorrow. We can only hope that we manage to get her into the bag together.

And I am feeling decreasingly enthusiastic about work this week... might have something to do with having had a bit too much of it. Work overdose is not much fun. Hmpf.
