The one icky thing about ice cream (and most other "safe" foods) is that they tend to form this nice layer of ickiness on the teeth, which is really annoying when one can't yet brush properly.

Ice cream seems to have got rid of the blood taste. So perhaps the bleeding has actually stopped for now.
