kribuSo. The weather continues to be pretty, even if yesterday was actually rather cool. Still, managed a walk by the seaside and a bit of Kadriorg... not with the new lens though, there's only so many wideangle pictures of the sea one can take after all. (I did take a few at home of the kitties, mainly Pätsu and Kribu, and it works just fine. Although glaring sunlight seems to cause more problems for it than for normal lenses - the sunshade thingy doesn't really seem to be much help, but I guess it cannot be bigger than it is or it will start covering the field of view up too much.)
Damn it's heavy though. Not on paper - only, what, 150 g more than my preferred lens (the 50-200mm seems to be the one I use the most when outdoors), but it SO feels when holding it.
Anyway, the new season of Doctor Who has started.
I have to say I didn't dislike it... maybe my expectations are not too high anymore, but it was actually rather fun. I liked Martha, even if I couldn't care less about her family troubles, and while the plot was not the deepest ever, it was reasonably straightforward and fun. Even the grossness (straw!!) was not a turn-off, probably because of the incongruity of blood-sucking and sweet little old ladies... it was wonderfully Doctor Who in its weirdness.
I still don't like Ten, and I absolutely HATE his hair - it's worse than last season - but he wasn't too horrid this time really. Either it's because the emphasis was on Martha in this episode, or because I've grown more tolerant of him, or maybe it's because he didn't have any big speeches, but in any case, he bordered on the tolerable.
I didn't expect snogging already in first episode though... oh well, more power to the Ten/Martha shippers, I suppose. What was up with the CPR though? Is it really supposed to work on people that have been sucked dry of blood? *raises eyebrow*
All in all, not a bad season starter. Lots better than New Earth was - not as pretentious, much shallower, much more straightforward, and consequently much better, IMHO. Nice effects, too.
