Went for a walk yesterday... terribly tired today; no wonder, as the walk + shopping after that took a good 3.5 hours.

And I started getting quite cold towards the end, which led to a bit of fever earlier today... was enough to make me worried, but as the fever's gone now, I do think this was just my usual reaction of getting a cold (and I do mean a cold, not some virus - when I actually start shivering of cold outside, I'm pretty much guaranteed fever later that day or the next day, but at least that tends to pass quickly).

Haven't bothered to carry anything bigger than my tiny Pentax A40 with me lately; it's such a pretty little camera but the image quality in general is worse than any other camera I've had. But it's pretty, and the smallest one I have, and in good light, it generally manages to take at least a few acceptable pics.

Hepatica.

New grass, old leaves.

Broken tree.

Riverside view.

River view.

The remains of snow on a ski track.

Wood anemone.

Bird cherry.

Sun and river reflections under bridge.

Bridge reflections on the river.

Bird. (A bit sucky, but I grabbed mum's camera for this one as she couldn't even see the bird, and it's taken in a hurry at full zoom. I was just glad to catch it mid-song!)

I also somehow ended up doing twice as much work over the weekend than I originally planned to... nearly 10,000 words yesterday and today. Should try and remember to stay away from it tomorrow!

Oh, and I have a Dreamwidth account now too: http://kribu.dreamwidth.org/profile - I doubt I'll be using it for anything but name-parking for now, but it's there anyway.

My favorite is the riverside view. I've always loved trees (how they photograph how I feel when I'm under one), and the contrast in the photo is superb.

Also, you sure have a lot of flower variety!

Happy weekend. :D

Lovely! The one I looked at longest was the bridge reflections, though the under bridge reflections was awfully nice, too. They are wonderful signs of spring, though.

Pretteh! I'd never be able to capture a non-blurry zoomed in pic like the singing bird. Very pretteh!

I'll try to remind you not to do any work tomorrow!

Thank you!

We do have quite a lot of wildflower variety here, yes. I love the spring, when there are all those different kinds all flowering within a few weeks.

I have a thing for reflections, really... there's that whole other world in them, almost like ours but slightly skewed.

Nice long lens and image stabilisation helps... the problem is just spotting the birdies! They're not easy to find, especially when quite high up in a tree. And they tend to fly away as soon as I've seen them. *rolls eyes*

Please do, yes. It's been going so well that I fear I'd be tempted to do another 5000 tomorrow, but I do need a day of rest, too!

Those are so beautiful. HOw lovely to catch a bird actually singing! I love the one of the grass growing through the leaf, too.

I hope you feel better soon. *hugs*

Actually - the bird is my favorite one - it's so rare that one gets to capture them in song like that...

:D

*hugs*

The bird was a very lucky catch! I did manage to snap two pics, and was fortunate enough to have it sing on one of them.

I can't wait for everything to turn properly green at last. Next week, I'd think.

I only wish the bird had been a bit clearer, but it's hard to focus properly on something so small when the camera is hanging around someone else's neck. :-D

*hugs too*

I love the riverside view, and the ones of the flowers, but they're all so beautiful!

Thank you! It's a beautiful view, isn't it? I can't imagine why I've never in the 20 years I've lived here walked in that direction before.

Yeah, it's weird, because even if you live somewhere for a long time, or think that you know all there is to know about something, you learn that you don't.

These are beautiful. I, too, love the little birdie and the grass growing through the leaf is fascinating.

Hope you'll feel better soon!

Thank you!

I'd feel better if some neighbours somewhere - can't even tell where - weren't having an ultra-loud party right now. Considering it's nearing 1 AM, and my floor here is shaking. :-S

(looks at hour and turns speakers off)
Hope your floor stops shaking!!! o_O

The pics are soooooo pretty - the singing bird is exceptional, I think I've never seen the like before.
As for tastes, the bridge reflections one is worth a yayyy!

Do not even TRY to work tomorrow, understand??? (are you barmy? YOU said you're tired! Go to sleep and STAY THERE!!!)
(goes to neighbour and repeats procedure)

Fabulous pics as always. The broken tree took my breath - looks like a monster bursting from the earth with jaw open. The riverside and the reflections are fantastic too.

I *love* the hepatica. Could I play with it a bit and make a spring icon?

Date: 3 May 2009 07:14 (UTC)
From: [identity profile] kribu.livejournal.com
Absolutely! It does look like the embodiment of spring, with the sunlight and all, doesn't it? :-D

The neighbours (not even in our house) went on until at least past 2 AM.... not sure how long, as I did somehow manage to fall asleep. I suspect the whole block got to "enjoy" their taste in party music.

I really am glad I got the singing bird pic. :-D There is so much birdsong going on in the woods right now, the only problem is actually seeing the little birdies. Crows and seagulls are much easier to spot. :-D

Do not even TRY to work tomorrow, understand???

I'll try not to. Really. Try being the operative word here...

We have a lot of broken trees here in the woods - they're generally cleared off at some point in the more parkland parts of the area but not everywhere. They do seem to add character...

Thank you!
